History Of The London Dating Scene

You can be forgiven for blaming the Romans for London, but the fact is that this part of England has been inhabited for thousands of years, and it was only the conquering Italians who made London what it was to become -- a major center of commerce, trade, culture and social progression. Through the medieval period to the Tudors, dating was absolutely core to the social structure of the city, and as the centuries passed, the Victorians took that structure to stuffy new heights -- or depths, depending on how you want to look at it. Through to the modern era via the two World Wars, London has become a real melting pot of nations and sensibilities. One of the gay capitals of the world long before other places, London is well known for its Gay Pride marches, and if there is anywhere in the UK where you will feel comfortable no matter where you are on the spectrum of sexuality it is London.

Best Times To Go Out

london03

London never sleeps -- it is not just New York City that gets to say this. If you want something to do with your special person, you can find a date venue that is open for business at any time of day or night, any day of the week, any week of the year. Rain or shine, heat wave or snow storm, you will find that somewhere will be willing to take your hard earned shillings for the chance to have a really smashing date. Don't overlook the many free sights and scenes of the city though -- there are huge and beautiful parks to stroll through at any time, as well as the River Thames, which has miles and miles of banks to walk along at any time.

That said, you can create the perfect date by minding what time you head out, with many museums and galleries opening during office hours, and most night clubs staying open all through the night. It is really up to you how you want to fashion your special date, so have a think about what kind of vibe you are going for. A good rule of thumb is to stick to the start of the week if you want a more chilled out time, and leave it to the weekend if you want something a bit more energetic to do with your time.

There is seating for people who wish to sit, and plenty of standing room outside for those who decided not to come in. It is the perfect antidote to a stressful world, and a great way to get to know someone as you chuckle along to one of the various funny folk who grace the stage at the world famous comedy club, Comedy Carnival. Punk Me Up Ceramics Caf is one of those rare places that actually feels as though it were tailor made for dating couples looking for a peaceful and fun hang where you don't have to get drunk to have a good time.
